What is a Centurion garage door?
Centurion has been around for over 40 years and its doors are littered throughout the state. The vast majority of garage doors in Western Australia are manufactured by Centurion. If you have a garage door, it’s probably a centurion-manufactured door.
Centurion’s offices are based in Wangara, barely 1km from our Eden Roc Garage Doors office. This makes life easy when it comes to liaising with Centurion to help our customers out.
Centurion Garage Doors are one of our preferred manufacturers at Eden Roc Garage Doors in Perth. To see Centurion’s range of garage doors, browse below or check out our entire range of doors from all manufacturers by visiting our Home Page or our Visualiser.
Centurion Garage Door Range
Centurion manufacture both sectional garage doors and roller garage doors:
The Georgian style of the Centurion sectional garage door is a textured style with wide rectangles running along with the panels. This is a style that allows you to have optional windows along with the top panel if you desire. These windows are not available for those styles that are not textured.
The Georgian is a solid choice for most residential homes.
The Cosmopolitan style of the Centurion sectional garage door is untextured. This means that the panels are flat without any rectangles or lines. This is arguably the most ‘modern’ style of Centurion sectional garage door (bar their custom Sunshine series) and would be a good choice for an ‘upmarket’ residential home or a modern ‘display’ style home.
The Regency, similar to The Georgian, is a textured style of Centurion garage door with rectangles running along with the panels. Unlike The Georgian, the rectangular texture of The Regency is much narrower. This gives the door a bit more of a ‘busy’ appearance as there are visibly more rectangles on the garage door exterior surface.
This style allows you to have optional windows along with the top panel if you so desire. These windows are not available for those styles that are not textured. The Regency is a good choice for homes whose exterior lacks a texture, ie, flat walls.
The Settler style of Centurion sectional garage door is a textured style with horizontal lines running along with the panels. This gives the door the appearance as if there were in fact many smaller panels that compose the door. The Settler is a very sleek style and a good choice for modern homes.
The Mediterranean style of the Centurion sectional garage door is similar to The Settler in that it has a textured pattern of horizontal lines running along with the panels. The Mediterranean style has even more of these horizontal lines than The Settler, which gives the appearance of even smaller panel sub-sections.
This style will pair well with homes whose exterior is in contrast to this door’s horizontal lines. This includes untextured (flat) walls, or when the texture does not match the long horizontal lines, like bricks and stone.
Types of Centurion door
There are many different types of centurion garage doors, each with its own unique benefits and features. Some of the most popular types of
centurion garage doors include:
Centurion Sectional Garage Door
Sectional centurion garage doors are a great choice for those who want a door that is durable and easy to operate. These doors open and close in sections, making them very versatile. Centurion’s sectional doors can be painted to give the appearance as though the door is made of wood. This can be done to match the aesthetic of the home or to give it a new feel to the traditional stock BlueScope steel colors
These timba-look colors are not available for the rectangle-textured door styles (The Georgian and The Regency) but are available for The Cosmopolitan, The Settler, and the Mediterranean.
Roller Centurion Garage Doors
Roller centurion garage doors are a great option for those who want a door that is easy to operate and maintain. These doors roll up and down, making them very space-efficient.
Centurion also manufactures Roller Doors. There is only one model of the roller door. It’s exactly as you imagine it, a pleated sheet of steel that unfurls from a cylinder to lower the door.It has a textured design (as it is pleated) with horizontal lines running across the door’s exterior (again, due to the pleats).
Centurion roller doors are also made from Colorbond steel, which means the same color options are available for roller garage doors and sectional garage doors. Which type of centurion garage door is right for you will depend on your specific needs and preferences. Consider the type of door that will best meet your needs before making a purchase.
Roller Door Ranges
Centurion Sunshine Series
The Sunshine series is Centurion’s ‘modern’ range of translucent doors which allow light to pass through. These doors have a Lattice frame, into which translucent panel inserts sit.
When designing these doors, you get a number of choices:
Lattice design – how many inserts per panel?
Lattice frame color – which color will work best for my door?
Unlike previous Centurion garage doors, the Sunshine series frames are powder-coated (ie, they are painted with a ‘powder-like’ paint). This gives you a greater choice of color. To explore the color options, we recommend you check out our visualizer and explore the color options once you have selected the custom door.
Insert type – perspex or polycarbonate?
Perspex and polycarbonate are two different types of plastic, and it’s up to you to decide which option is the best for your Centurion Sunshine series inserts. Perspex is shiner and cheaper than polycarbonate, but is weaker and more likely to crack (don’t hit it with a stray cricket ball). Polycarbonate is stronger but more expensive.
